Because Vital Connect has been designed to allow the complete novice to connect to the World Wide Web it`s parameters are absolutely rigid. Each copy of the program is tailored to the exact wants and needs of each individual customer and their computer!
Vital Connect is designed to take the hassel out of Surfin` the Net! It links together vital programs which you will find yourself using once you start Surfin` such as AmiFTP for uploading and downloading to and from your own website and others, such as Aminet, then, when you have downloaded files from the net they will, more often than not, be compressed with LHA, LZX, DMS, PowerPacker or some other archiver. Just one click on PACK/UNPACK brings up Jurgen Spath`s `ARCHIVER` an excellent program for packing/unpacking files.
For file handling you are just one click away from `DOPUS` and your favourite TEXT EDITOR is also one click away for modifying/updating your website!
All your preferred programs MUST be in the VitalConnect directory i.e.
TCP Stack - (Miami, AmiTCP, Genesis etc.) Mailer - (Yam, MicroDotII etc.) FTP - (AmFTP, AmiFTP etc.) IRC - (AmIRC etc.) Browser - (Voyager, IBrowse, Aweb etc.) Text Editor- (Ced, Ed, Bed etc.) File Manager- (DOPUS, Ro, Sid etc.) Archiver - (Archiver, LhaGUI etc.)
All other buttons utilize AREXX scripts so it is more convienient if you use Miami3.0, YAM, AmiFTP, AmIRC or anything with an AREXX port!
Certain assigns must be made to your s:user-startup, they are:
assign VitalConnect: WORK:VitalConnect
(Substitute DH0:-HD0:-or whatever you call your partition where VitalConnect is!)
assign Libs: VitalConnect:Libs ADD
assign C: VitalConnect:C ADD
